A comprehensive assessment for children, teens, and adults designed to identify functional visual deficits that may be impacting reading, learning, attention, comfort, or overall visual performance. Many patients pursue this evaluation after being told their eyesight is “20/20,” yet they continue to experience headaches, eye strain, difficulty focusing, double vision, skipping lines when reading, or poor visual endurance.
If you were referred by an optometrist, therapist, or school professional, this is typically the recommended exam.
This evaluation goes beyond a routine eye exam and focuses on how the eyes and brain work together. Testing includes detailed assessment of:
Eye tracking (oculomotor control)
Eye focusing (accommodation)
Eye teaming and binocular vision
Visual endurance and efficiency
When clinically indicated, additional testing may include:
Laterality and directionality
Visual perception and processing skills
Screening for retained primitive reflexes that may impact visual development At the conclusion of the visit, findings and recommendations are reviewed in detail, including whether vision therapy or other interventions are appropriate.

Progress evaluations are performed periodically during a vision therapy program to measure improvement and guide next steps. Previously identified areas of difficulty are re-tested to determine how the visual system is responding to therapy. Results help refine the treatment plan, adjust goals, and determine readiness for advancement or graduation from therapy.
A full eye health and vision assessment that includes:
Ocular health evaluation (dry eye, allergies, redness, etc.)
Eye pressure measurement
Refraction to determine glasses prescription (if needed)
Basic binocular vision screening
This exam is appropriate for patients seeking a general eye exam, an updated prescription, or evaluation of eye health concerns.
Contact lens fittings require additional measurements and trial lens testing beyond a standard eye exam. This fee covers:
Determining proper base curve, diameter, and lens parameters
Trial lens ordering and fitting
Brand and material selection based on eye health and lifestyle
Insertion and removal training for new wearers
Multiple trial lenses may be required to ensure the safest and most comfortable fit.
A problem-focused visit outside of a routine eye exam. This covers evaluation and management of medical eye concerns such as eye pain, redness, infection, injury, or sudden changes in vision.
The visit includes targeted testing, clinical assessment, and treatment recommendations, which may involve prescriptions, in-office procedures, or coordination of care with other providers. Follow-up visits or additional testing may be recommended based on findings to ensure proper management and recovery.
Available upon request for Dr. Chow to attend school meetings (virtually or in person) to discuss diagnoses, visual findings, and recommended classroom accommodations. This service helps ensure that educators and support staff understand how visual factors may impact learning and how best to support the student in the classroom environment.
